Who is responsible for the asbestos register in a commercial building?

The person conducting the business or undertaking at the workplace — usually the building owner or the managing agent. The register must identify asbestos present, its location and condition, and be reviewed when it changes or when work is planned near it.

Can removal happen while the building stays open?

Often, yes. Work areas are sealed and separated from occupied space, and scheduling shifts to nights or weekends where separation isn't practical. The scope sets out which approach applies to each area.

What do we receive at the end of the job?

An air monitoring result, a clearance certificate for the area, and the disposal documentation. Together these are what an incoming tenant, purchaser or regulator will ask to see.
