Residential Asbestos Removal Brisbane

Residential asbestos removal covers the bonded sheeting, eaves, roofing, wet-area walls, vinyl backing, fencing and sheds found in Queensland homes built before 1990. Total Asbestos is licensed for both bonded and friable material, removes under containment, and issues an air clearance certificate before the site is handed back.

What's included A typical home job, start to finish.
1 Identification Confirming what the material is and its condition. Where it isn't obvious, a sample goes to the lab before anything is quoted or touched.
2 Written quote Scope, method and price, based on area, access and whether the material is bonded or friable.
3 Containment The work area is sealed and signed. The rest of the house, the neighbours and the yard stay separated from it.
4 Removal Material is wetted down to suppress fibres, removed by hand rather than broken up, and double-wrapped on site.
5 Disposal and clearance Waste goes to an approved council disposal site with documentation, air is tested, and a clearance certificate is issued.

Technical & compliance questions All FAQs →

What's the difference between bonded and friable asbestos removal?

Bonded material is solid — sheeting, eaves, fencing — and is removed in whole sheets under Class B licensing. Friable material crumbles under light pressure, releases fibres far more readily, and requires Class A licensing, full enclosure and negative air pressure. The same house can contain both.

Do I have to move out during the removal?

Usually not for a straightforward external job such as a roof, eaves or fence. Internal work in occupied rooms is different, and where vacating isn't practical the area is separated with industrial sheeting so the rest of the house stays usable.

What happens to the waste?

It's wetted, double-wrapped and labelled on site, transported under cover, and disposed of at a council-approved facility. The disposal documentation forms part of your job record.
